Terrain Drain Trip Review

Sunlight and Silver Creek
Submitted By: Natalie Kurylko

Overall impression of the riding: There aren't too many resorts I can say I'd never heard of before, but these are two that fall into that unknown category. We at Pulp Magazine hosted an event at each of these resorts this past weekend, so here's my take: Sunlight gets big props for its amazing locals scene and efforts to work with riders on designing its park. These two factors made our slopestyle events there a total success. Check it out if you're ever in the area. Small mountain with a lot of soul, good snow and some decent tree riding if you look hard enough. Silver Creek, on the other hand, is definitely too small for most riders. But if you're looking for an out-of-the-way place to learn how to ride a good beginner pipe (read: away from the glare of more experienced pipe riders) this might just be the place for you. The ratings down below are for Sunlight.
Rank on a scale of 1 - 5 (Five being best, one being suckiest)
Overall Terrain: 3
Lift Service: 3
Mountain Personnel: 5
Attitude Towards Snowboarders: 5
Halfpipe: 5
Snowboard Park: 4
Recommendations for future visitors:
Secret Stash: Jocelyn has six solid hits in less than 800ft vert
Best Lift: couldn't tell ya
Local Shop: BSR in Glenwood Springs
Restaurant: The Brew Pub; try the scallops and shrimp w/ pasta
Hangout: Doc Hollidays
Place To Stay: Couldn't tell ya: We stayed in cheap dumps.
