Terrain Drain Trip Review

Brighton (Mt.Millicent /and Backcountry)
Submitted By: Scott Wilson

Overall impression of the riding: If your into powder, chutes, big-o-rocks, and meeting cool people who are willing to help you shovel a sick kicker, look no further than Brighton Resort in Utah! Take the evergreen chair at the Mt.Milly side and hike to your right. This is where I met some cool locals and a crew from Austurlia who built a really fun kicker. Oh yea remember that dam that the boys in Decade were jumpin off, well it's back there too! Anyways, look hard around here and you will find tons of things to jump off, or places to shovel a hit or to pack 1/4 pipe. Besides the fun lines on the Milly bowl and the endless backcountry options on this side of the mountain, don't forget about the rest of the resort! Tons of lines to try, one of my favorites was on the Clayton Peak side. Take the great western chair to the top, then exit to your left, traverse to your right and head out of bounds,MAKE SURE THE SNOWPACK IS STABLE AND HAVE THE ESSENTIALS WITH YOU,and bring a friend! Try one of the shutes, and watch the exit it's all trees! Exit to the right and then have some fun in the powder field below! The rest of your decent will take you into the trees! Be careful and stay to your left, follow the tracks out, if there is any, take this out until you stumble upon the little homes along the road up to the resort! Have fun but respect the backcounty, come ready and your time at Brighton will be one you will remember with a huge grin. Get there early or you will have to ride the bus up the canyon. Try to get here when the snow is fresh or a day old, and you won't have to search too hard for the fluf! Thanks--- feel free to e-mail for more info or if you have any Brighton story's to share!
