In 1998, Boarding For Breast Cancer launched its regional BBC Board-A-Thon Program in an effort to further BBC's mission and broaden its reach to American youth. BBC's Board-A-Thons are regional fund-raising events held at ski resorts nationwide.

"People from all over the country have contacted us about creating an event in their local area to support the BBC cause. Creating the BBC Board-A-Thon program allows us to get people from all over the country involved," says Brett Smith of Fuse Sports Marketing. "BBC's goal is to expand this grassroots program to five regions in the U.S."

At the BBC Board-A-Thons, participants collect pledges from family, friends, and anyone interested in supporting the cause. Then, on the event day, participants hit the slopes for a day of riding or skiing. The events may vary from resort to resort with highlights including breast cancer awareness and education exhibits, snowboard product demos, a product raffle, a halfpipe jam session, and live music by regional bands.
