Boarding For Breast Cancer announces Polo Sport as Presenting Sponsor of its 4th Annual Snowboarding and Music Festival Boarding For Breast Cancer (BBC) is a youth-focused organization working to elevate awareness among todays youth and raise funds for breast cancer research and educational projects. Today, BBC announced five major sponsors to date, for the organizations 4th Annual Snowboard and Music Festival. Polo Sport has signed on for the first time as Presenting Sponsor of the event. Returning as Associate Sponsor is Burton Snowboards. Sims Snowboards, Mountain Dew, and Convert by Columbia Sportswear are among supporting level sponsors to endorse this years festival, scheduled for April 17, 1999 at Sierra at Tahoe, CA. Previously headlined by the Foo Fighters, Primus, Luscious Jackson, and the Beastie Boys; BBCs Snowboard and Music Festival combines live music and pro snowboard exhibitions by the worlds top riders with breast cancer awareness and educational programs throughout the day. The Festival also includes free product demos, a major product raffle that includes over $50,000 in snowboard merchandise, and the opportunity to ride with the pros. BBC is proud to announce that Polo Sport has pledged its support as the Presenting Sponsor of this years Festival. Polo has played a prominent role in the fight against breast cancer including Ralph Laurens 1989 launch of Nina Hyde Center for Cancer Research and Treatment. Other event sponsors include Burton Snowboards, which returns for the third year as the events Associate Sponsor. Also returning this year as Supporting Sponsors are Sims Snowboards, Mountain Dew, and Convert by Columbia; and Transworlds Snowboarding Online as BBCs internet partner. The list is sure to grow longer as the event draws near. In addition to BBCs Annual Snowboard and Music Festival, the organization spreads its message through other programs including regional fundraising events at ski resorts and an interactive awareness display that travels nationwide via major consumer events. Over the past three years, BBCs fundraising efforts have exceeded $237,000. Proceeds have been donated to The Breast Cancer Fund and The Susan G. Komen Foundation.
