by US Team Coach Peter Foley

The American women had a great showing today at the ISF World Series half pipe in Laax Switzerland, with Michelle Taggart taking 1st, Tricia Byrnes 3rd and Kim Stacey 4th. Ross Powers finished 5th and Zach Horwitz 13th. Rob Kingwill also qualified for the final, but suffered a concussion during a practice run before the contest. He is doing fine and will be ready for Whistler.

Anton Pogue leading Austria's Stefan Kaltschuetz in the round of 16.

At the FIS World Cup parallel slalom held today in Sestriere Italy, Anton Pogue finished 7th and Sondra Van Ert 16th.

Snoop Doggy Dog is playing tonight in Laax, so the Half Pipers will be celebrating there tonight before flying home on Monday. For the Alpiners a GS will be held tomorrow, then part of the group will head home for Super-G training and the remainder of the group will continue on to Ischgl Austria for 3 races before everyone meets up again in Whistler.
