PR:Skiers battle to the last round but snowboarder takes victory at Ski Bowls first annual big air battle.

MT HOOD, OREGON (January 4, 1998) - Snowboarder Aaron McGhehey claims Win at First Annual Big Air Battle on New Years Eve Night at Ski Bowl. Snowboarder McGhehey, of McMinnville, and Skier Ben Bliesner, of Welches, Blast in the New Year with First place wins at Thursdays First Annual Skier VS Boarder Competition. McGhehey and Bliesner Battled it out for the final cash purse were Snowboarder McGhehey took the Victory.

Ski Bowls Gala not only had a 52 foot monster gap that was Spectator friendly. USSTC's Event Management Services included an all ages after hour party were Portlands Daylights, C21, and Special Guest brought in the new year. Northwest's notables Mike Estes, Andy Wolf, Tom Nordwall, Spanos, Matt Donahue, Palmers-Mike Henderson and Volcoms-Tim Snail came to bring in some New Years Cheer. Dare Devil Tracy Watson represented the females taking home a nice gift certificate from The New Release Company.
