| San Francisco, CA (May 15, 1997) - International footwear giant Fila
has entered into a partnership with Switch Manufacturing to produce boots
compatible with the Switch system. Fila Outdoor of Boulder Colorado is currently
prototyping Switch Compatible boots that are scheduled to become available
for the 1998 season.
"We spent months interviewing riders, representatives from resorts and industry
insiders. It was obvious that step-ins had gained momentum and would play
a major role in the future of snowboarding" says Dave Claflin from the Fila
Outdoor marketing department. "We evaluated several systems and found that
Switch had the ultimate combination: strong technology, commanding market
share and the level of support was far beyond other companies we looked at".
Claflin expressed Fila's intent to produce a range of technical boots that
would appeal to the evolving rider styles of today. "Fila's roots have been
in technology since its creation in Italy in 1911. Our focus is to produce
technically advanced boots to satisfy riders from the beginner to the most
demanding pro."
Switch welcomes the latest addition to its family of boot partners, furthering
the binding company's commitment to offer both the rider and retailer the
widest choice in style and fit. Fila joins the Switch Compatible family that
includes Vans, Nice, Exo, Duffs, Raichle, Titan, Heelside, Nidecker, Gordo
and Flexible. |
