PR: TransWorld SNOWboarding Launches twsnow.com
PRESTON, Wash.-- Ride, Inc. (Nasdaq: RIDE), a leading manufacturer and worldwide marketer of snowboards and related products, today announced the appointment of Robert E. Hall as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 20th, 1996. Mr. Hall will also serve as a member of Ride's board of directors.

"We are extremely pleased to announce that Bob Hall has accepted our offer to serve as Ride's new President and Chief Executive Officer," said Roger Madison, Chairman. "Bob's wealth of experience and skills in the ski and consumer goods industries make him uniquely qualified to lead our company through its next stages of growth and profitability. We look forward to working with him to meet the challenges that lie ahead."

From 1973 to 1985, Mr. Hall held various positions with Salomon S.A., a recognized manufacturer and marketer of skis and related products. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Salomon/North America and as a member of Salomon's Executive Committee. Under Hall's direction, Salomon showed substantial increases in revenues and earnings. He also participated in the company's strategic planning and its 1982 acquisition of Taylor Made Golf Company, which reduced the seasonality of Salomon's business.

From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Hall was President and Chief Executive Officer of Allegra, Inc. dba Vuarnet-France. Under his leadership, Vuarnet achieved a five-year compound annual revenue growth rate of nearly 25% during a mature phase of the Vuarnet brand's life cycle while earning more than a 30% return on assets.

In 1992, Mr. Hall acquired Smiley Hats, a winter sports hat manufacturer and marketer and has been successfully operating that business from 1992 to date.

"In four years, Ride, Inc. has become the world's second largest manufacturer and marketer of snowboard and related products," said Madison. "We are confident that under Bob Hall's leadership our company will continue to be a major force in this rapidly growing industry."
