When a mountain opens with 95 percent of their terrain kicking you have to go. This was the case with Wolf Creek in southern Colorado. I have been riding man made crud for about two weeks now and I am getting real sick of it. Call me spoiled but it's the area that does it to you.

So when Frank Wells and I heard that the Creek was going to open with most of it's terrain we were freaking. Now mind you that Wolf Creek has no snowmaking, that means that it snowed over 50 inches to get that baby running. The area is about three and a half to four hours away from Breckenridge where I live, so we were getting up early if we wanted any fresh snow to fall in.

Wolf Creek is located about 30 minutes from a town called Pagosa Springs in southern Colorado. It's pretty close to the New Mexico boarder(real far away). When we were approaching the Wolf Creek Pass I said to Frank "Oh crap look at those clouds up there.'' Frank then said "That's no moon that's a space station.'' Whoops wrong quote. "Those aren't clouds that's snow.''

The top of the pass was blanketed with a lot of snow, I mean a lot. We were freaking. We pulled into the lot just before the lifts started running . I noticed a lot of tracks up on the mountain, I figured that Kalei Pitcher was laughing at all of us because he tracked the thing up. His family owns the joint you know. Regardless we rode more good size jumps and more powder than anyone should ride before Thanksgiving.

After Frank chewed a hole in his tongue we decided to head home. Wolf Creek, that evil place, has spoiled me even more.
