MOBY - I Like to Score
(Electra)
Release Date: 10/21/97
Review: Angel Bennett
(November 13, 1997)

I like to Score is a collection of his songs that have appeared in movies and on soundtracks and is therefore quite a good sampling of Moby's range as an artist. From the simple strings/piano arrangement of "Novio" with ethereal, chant-like vocals, to the pulsing house of "Go" (from Twin Peaks), there is a little bit of everything on this one. The first single is Moby's fiery take on the James Bond Theme from the upcoming Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies (this won't be available on the film's soundtrack.) Other highlights include the tounge-in-cheek sexuality of the title track, "I like to Score" (from the HBO movie, Double Tap), the hip trance of "First Cool Hive" (from Scream) and the tight, racing beat of "Oil 1" (from The Saint). Whether you're already a Moby fan or a virgin to his compositions and re-mixes I like to Score will please everyone.
