Snowboard Life Top 25: Burton Cascade

November 6, 2000

The Burton Cascade is a new addition to the companys line, designed by big-mountain riders Craig Kelly and Masanori "Masa" Takeuchi. Kurt said its an intelligent board: "The thinking-mans flex more than just stiff or soft. A softer tail makes for easy turn finishes and floats the nose up really nice in softer and/or deeper snow." Scoring highest in turn initiation and versatility, the Cascade had Kevin remarking, "I would use this as a freeride board with an emphasis on faster lines. It also builds confidence in tight turns and spins." As Burton describes it, this board is designed for the rider who wants a sensitive feel for terrain and the ability to modulate board flex.
