PRESTON, Wash., Dec. 5 -- Ride, Inc. (Nasdaq: RIDE), a leading manufacturer and designer of snowboards and accessories, today announced that it has signed Jeff Brushie, a world class halfpipe rider, to its professional snowboarding team. Brushie, 25, who has been riding for nine years and competing for eight, will participate in his first contest as a team rider at The Hunter Mountain American Snowboard Tour (AST) in New York on the weekend of December 14, 1996.

"Jeff Brushie is a champion who represents the future of snowboarding," said Bob Hall, president and CEO of Ride, Inc. "He is known for his innovative and athletic style, a perfect match for Ride. He will be a tremendous addition to the Ride team as he brings his passion to our brand. We look forward to working with Jeff in product development and spreading the good word about our sport."

Beside being a key rider on the Ride team and making appearances with team members, Brushie will provide extensive input on research and development, product design, advertising and marketing.

Brushie, who was raised in Hinesberg, Vermont, presently makes his home in San Diego, California. He is one of the best halfpipe riders in the history of the sport and his career highlights include:

1991 World Halfpipe Champion. 1st in Halfpipe at the 1996 Bud Light APSS (American Professional Snowboard Series) in Vail; was the 1992 PSTA Overall Champion and the 1992 PSTA Halfpipe Champion; placing 2nd in Freestyle in 1992 in the Transworld Snowboarding (TWS) Reader's Poll and placing first in 1992 in Halfpipe in the TWS Reader's Poll.

"Ride has some really good product designers and they put out some of the best products. That's why I came on board. They also have the most advanced manufacturing facilities in the industry," said Brushie. "I look forward to riding with the team. I'm really good friends with a lot of the guys on the team, so I know I'll have a lot of fun hanging out with them. This is a great opportunity for me."

In addition to his tremendous riding skills, Brushie is also known for being in many videos and making frequent contributions to major publications including: Transworld Snowboarding, Snowboarder, Eastern Edge, Blunt, Stick, and many others.
