Burton Names Method Centers, Restructures Finance

By Press Release

October 18, 2000

The more people who learn to ride the better. Burton Snowboards Method Centers, featuring Learn to Ride (LTR) product, have revolutionized the experience with a first of its kind combined methodology of teaching and equipment. The goal of the program get students linking turns on the very first day and significantly reduce the number of falls.

What is a Method Center? A Method Center is a Burton supported learning facility at select resorts in North America who also believe learning should be painless and fun. Method Center resorts are selected based on their reputation and willingness to offer a superior learning experience to first time snowboarders. Method Centers are the pinnacle of snowboard instruction.

Why LTR and the Method Centers? The LTR program is designed to make learning easy. By teaming up with the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) and using equipment designed specifically for the program, LTR puts fun and excitement into the learning experience without pain.

How does the LTR Equipment work? LTR equipment is the cornerstone of Method Centers. It has been specifically designed to address the problems beginner snowboarders have when learning how to ride. Through a combination of edge beveling, aggressive sidecut and super soft flex, the LTR board eliminates unwanted edge hook-ups commonly known as slams. The results of using LTR equipment: more people will get out on the hill successfully the first time and experience how fun snowboarding can be. Where can I find Method Centers? The following resorts are the LTR Method Centers for the 2000-2001 season: Stowe Mountain Resort-VT Vail Mountain Resort- CO Beaver Creek Resort- CO Okemo Mountain Resort-VT Park City Mountain Resort- UT Mount Snow Resort- VT Whistler/Blackcomb Resort- BC, Canada Killington Resort- VT Cypress Mountain, BC, Canada Mountain Creek Resort- NJ
