W Helmets the Official Helmet of Paul Mitchell X Games Qualifers and Ultracross Competition to be Featured on ESPN-2 this Winter

CLEVELAND, October, 2001 -- Watch for the "W" this winter.W Helmets with Zorbium Foam has become the official helmet of two major skiing and snowboarding competitions this season: The Paul Mitchell X-Qualifiers and Ultracross events. Worldwide coverage of the competitions, which feature the hottest snowboarders from across the globe, will be on ESPN-2 as well as in other broadcast and print media.

Over 200 of the best men and women in the world will compete in two Paul Mitchell X-Qualifier events, vying for spots in the 2002 ESPN Winter X-Games to be held in Aspen, Colo., Jan. 17-20. As the official helmet, the W Helmets name will be highly visible on ESPN-2 coverage and during the qualifiers held Dec. 15 and 16, 2001 on the East Coast, and again on Jan. 9 and 10, 2002, in Northstar-at-Tahoe, Calif.

Ultracross, to be held January 12 and 13, 2002, in Northstar-at-Tahoe, Calif., is a uniquely exciting competition in which paired teams of today's most recognized skiers and snowboarders compete against other pairs in a downhill race to the finish. W Helmets, the official helmet of the competition, will be featured within event coverage on ESPN-2 as well as prominently on the slope.

W Helmets and Zorbium Foam, produced by Team Wendy, LLC, in Cleveland, are designed and engineered to address the need for a multi-sport helmet that offers the highest possible level of protection against head injuries as a result of cycling, skiing, snowboarding, rollerblading or skateboarding accidents. Zorbium Foam, the most significant technological advancement in helmet safety in over 30 years, absorbs two times more energy upon impact and protects over a wider range of impact speeds than EPP, EPS and other foams used in many helmets today.
