Out Cold Makes $6.9-million Over Weekend By Press Release November 26, 2001
It might be called Out Cold, but the new snowboarding movie brought in the cold hard cash. Coming in as the number-six best-grossing movie over the five-day-long holiday weekend, Out Cold took in $6.9-million dollars.
Although it pales to Harry Potters gross of $83.5-million, the story of a group of boarders who try to keep their local ski resort from getting sold to the bad developer beat out the John Travolta drama "Domestic Disturbance," and "Heist", a thriller starring Gene Hackman and Danny DeVito, which came in number seven and eight respectively.
Of course, the snowboarding tale wasnt enough to outpace "Shallow Hal," a comedy starring Gwyneth Paltrow in a fat suit, or "Black Knight," in which Martin Lawrence plays a worker at a medieval theme park who gets knocked on the head and wakes up in real medieval times. Also claiming higher spots were Spy Game (Robert Redford and Brad Pitt) and Monsters, Inc.
