Sean and John's European Adventures
SNOWboarding Business editors invade Europe, trade shows.
9/16/98 By John Stouffer and Sean O'Brien
In the next two weeks, SNOWboarding Business Editor John Stouffer and Managing Editor Sean O'Brien will be trekking across Europe in search of the latest snowboarding scoops. Now, we're not trying to make anyone jealous here, because quite honestly, these are work trips we're taking. Really. I swear. (Just don't tell our bosses, okay?)
Actually, Sean will be looking for barrels in Biarritz, France, while attending the Glissexpo—Europe's surf, skate, and snowboarding trade show located right across the sand dunes from the French Atlantic coast. Then he'll be heading down to Barcelona, Spain for a tour of the new Rossignol ski and snowboard factory.
John, on the other hand, will be flying Swiss Air (which seems creepy now) from New York over to Switzerland, then crossing into Austria to build snowboards at the Palmer factory with several of the top retailers from the United States. The whole group will then be able to test their board-building skills at the Kitzsteinhorn glacier before heading down to Italy, where they will tour the Dainese clothing and Swatch watch factories.
Not to be left out of the fun, Associate Editor Robyn Hakes will have the pleasure of a quiet office without Sean and John around, until the ASR show rolls into town. Then she'll be attending the show, local parties, and annual movie-premiere extravaganzas of the new features such as Mack Dawg's Decade, Standard Films' North Of Heaven-TB7 and the new TransWorld SNOWboarding Video Magazine Snowblind, among others.
So don your beret, mon cheri, and keep logged on for up-to-date reports from Sean and John's Official Snow Biz European Adventures and Robyn's movie reviews and ASR show news.
