The British Snowboard Championships 2001 Incorporating Music on The Mountain
The 2001 British Snowboard Championships takes place in Mayrhofen, Austria between 28th March and 7th April, marking the 11th anniversary of the event. This year sees a big change in the format of the competition which also sees a new look 'festival' approach integrated into the event schedule.
For the first time ever the Champs will feature Music on the Mountain which promises to make the event the end of season celebration to the snowboard calendar. With music journalist and club promoter, Kirk Field responsible for music programming the line up is guaranteed to rock the mountain French band, Shaggy Dog Story and Perrier Award finalists, the Cuban Brothers are amongst those already confirmed. The week-long event will embrace great boarding, themed bars, clubbing, street festival and a massive finale party with live music.
The resort itself has committed extensive resources to developing and improving facilities such as the extended fun park and the new Horberg Bahn gondala system which will cut out the queues and hassle of getting up to the action and help ensure that Championship-goers are kept happy both on and off the mountain.
