Snowboard Life Top 25: Ride Control

November 6, 2000

With easy turn initiation and an all-around forgiving ride, the sub 300-dollar Control is pure bang for the buck.

In its second Top 25 appearance in as many years, the 2000/01 models already well-devised shape saw the addition of a tip-to-tail woodcore. That core, and a rider-friendly flex, led to a recurrence of words like, "springy," and "snappy," on testers scorecards. Robyn found the Control a killer multi-use board; it ranked high in versatility with almost all the testers, but was especially liked by lighter, more finesse-type riders.

Under the power of stronger or heavier handlers, the Control might not have what it takes to keep you chargin (its pretty soft), but for an ultra-fun, low-effort outing, its just the call.
