June Mountain Introduces JM2 Terrain Parks and Super Pipe
By Press Release
November 29, 2001

June Mountain, CA - This season, June Mountain is getting back to its roots and renewing its commitment to freeriders. From the same creative minds that developed sister resort Mammoth Mountain's world-renowned terrain parks and pipes, the Unbound team now presents JM2 at June Mountain.

A snowboarding and freeskiing Mecca in the 80's and early 90's, June Mountain hosted some of the country's largest halfpipe competitions. After a few years out of the spotlight, June Mountain now returns to the freeriding stage bigger and better than ever. With halpipe guru Eric Rosenwald at the helm, the JM2 Park is already getting a lot of attention.

"We really want to put June Mountain back on the map as a world-class pipe and park," says Terrain Park Manager Eric Rosenwald. "I think this season people will really see a big difference. The new park will have over 100 terrain features in addition to a Super Pipe."

Direct from Sugarloaf in Maine, Eric brings to June over seven years of terrain park building and design experience and the passion of a 14-year veteran snowboarder. Eric, who earned his reputation as a terrain and pipe expert at Sugarloaf, has been working tirelessly this fall getting June Mountain's park ready for its winter debut.

The main park is located off the popular J7 Chair, on the Sunrise trail. With terrain features like jumps and rails scattered throughout the 1* mile trail, it qualifies as one of the longest terrain parks in the country. Add to that an additional 2* miles of park off of the J6 Chair and you have a total of over 4 miles of terrain features to choose from. It's no surprise that June Mountain also wanted to make the pipe bigger and better. They now boast a world-class Super Pipe, one of only a handful in the nation.

With Opening Day just around the corner on December 15th, Eric and his crew are busily preparing - making snow, cutting the pipe, and shaping the Terrain Park. With a little help from Mother Nature, JM2 should be ready to rock on opening day.
