Snowboard Life Top 25: Random Icon

November 6, 2000

The Icon could easily represent the ideal freeride board. Teamrider Max Jenke designed this one and increased its tail stiffness to ensure landing stability. Carbon-fiber strips were added to the construction, creating a stiffer flex pattern and more snappy ride.

Even without knowing this, Jonathan called it out: "This one had a poppy, poppy tail. Olliemaster!"

Heaping the praise on, Kevin asked: "Why cant they all be like this?"

Kurt added, "This board really surprised me. A good general shape and usable flex made it easy to turn in all conditions. Somebody at this company must ridedidnt miss anything. No gimmicks or trickery, just good ideas."

The directional, sidewall- and woodcore-construction board scored highest on versatility with the testers.
