PR: Ride Sports Licenses Device Binding to Atomic/Oxygen
9/28/98
PRESTON, Wash., Sept. 28 -- Ride Sports (Nasdaq: RIDE), a leading
manufacturer and marketer of snowboard equipment and accessories,
wakeboards and related products, announced today that it has signed a
licensing agreement with Atomic Austria GmbH to market Ride's patented
Device step-in snowboard boot and binding interface under Atomic's Oxygen
brand.
"We are very pleased to welcome Oxygen as a new step-in partner," stated
Robert Marcovitch, Ride's President and Chief Executive Officer.
"Oxygen's global presence will certainly help authenticate the Device
interface worldwide." "Oxygen is a major player in the snowboard
market," added Scott Mavis, Ride's Vice President of Marketing. "They
have the knowledge, products, image, and distribution that will
strengthen the popularity of the Device step-in interface in Europe as
well as the rest of the world."
Christian Jager, Product Manager for Oxygen said, "We truly believe in
the Device step-in interface as it is the most advanced system on the
market, it is well tested, and is established in key markets. Comfort is
one important argument for a step-in system, but the most important
aspect is performance during riding. This is what sets the Device
interface apart from the rest of the field."
Established in 1992, Ride is headquartered at the foothills of the
Cascade Mountains, in Preston, Washington. Ride is a leading
manufacturer of contemporary sports equipment, including snowboard
equipment, wakeboards, and apparel under the brand names: Ride, Liquid,
5150, Smiley Hats, SMP and FullTilt.
